And That's How Ya Do It!

Let me begin by saying I have a few weeks worth of photos to catch up on -- and they will follow (hopefully) in the next couple of days. Tonight however, I am a single mom (Ryan went to a church meeting) which meant that all of the bedtime duty with three children was left to this lowly, tired and bloated mom at the end of the day. So you only get this first little bit because folks, frankly it's past 8:30 pm which mean it is PAST my bedtime! Pathetic right? Ha! I feel Grrrrreeeeaaat when I wake up each morning. =)

For some time now Gabriella and Kolea have been fighting over who gets to push the baby stroller. I've been saving a new baby set for Kolea's 2nd birthday (complete with a new baby, stroller, pack 'n play, etc.) But a mom can only handle so many fights between her 1 and 4 year old girls so I broke into that box and pulled out that dang baby stroller!

Things have gone much more smoothly around our house ever since!

And half the time the girls push their dolls around together! Don't you just LOVE SISTERS!?!

These next couple of pictures is why I titled this post the way I did. A few weeks ago we had Stake Conference. We had a member of the 70 here to speak with us which was phenomenal. Our stake has been focusing on *Good, *Better, & *Best as it relates to various church activities... it's been great!

Anyhow, we arrive to church 45 minutes before it begins (because everyone on the mainland knows that if you want a soft seat you ought to get there at least an hour early, right??) Well, not here! We were a sight! There was ONE other couple sitting in the chapel. Nice. We were the only family there-- by a long shot. Now we know that if we come 20 minutes before Stake Conference begins we will be there in Peeeee-lenty of time and easily get a "soft seat."

So as we're "killing time" I REALLY look at Hunter for the first time that morning. Yes, he's all dressed and his hair was even combed. But I'm beginning to notice red dots all over his clothing- as in his WHITE shirt and khaki pants. WHAT? Oh yes. It's blood. Actually BLOOD SPLATTER all over him. Nice. And there was a lot. Why didn't I notice this BEFORE we got in the car??

So what was it from, you ask? Well, ever since we moved here we discovered that we have an EXCELLENT beach for collecting sea glass, beach glass- whatever you want to call it. Once day I finally rinsed and dried it all and put it all in a giant vase as a decorative piece. However, this vase sat on the floor because we don't really have any shelves at our current place- and it's really, really heavy. So I'd be afraid to put it up on something anyway!

Well, a couple of days before this Sunday morning where I'm discovering blood splattered all over Hunter's clothing, Kolea stepped INTO the middle of the vase (to use as a step stool of course) and the pressure made it shatter. Real Nice. See last photo. And somehow Hunter cut his finger on a piece of glass. He's 6. Who knows what he was doing- but it must have been something dumb because he was too embarrassed to even tell me about it! So as I'm asking him how he got blood ALL OVER HIMSELF he was showing me his finger (with a messy, blood covered bandaid he put on himself) and said he cut it on the glass. End of story.

After church I'm beginning to notice drops of blood ALL over the floors! I'm soooo thankful that all of the floors in this house are linoleum. So I gave Hunter a box of wipes and said "MOP." He wasn't too excited at first but he saw that it really wasn't that bad.

In fact, Kolea was so excited about what he was doing that she decided to join in! Funny girl.
And ladies, that's how you get your floors mopped! Give baby wipes to your kids and they think it's the most fun thing ever! Ha! Well, they didn't really mop the WHOLE floor. But every place I pointed out some blood is what got cleaned up- and it was EVERYWHERE!
This is about 4 months worth of sea glass that found its final resting place at the bottom of the garbage can. Too bad, so sad.
